Christians: Why won't God answer my prayers?
I know that I may seem conceited and that I think the whole world revolves around me, but this isn’t like that. I believe in God, but I dont necessarily have a specific religion. Well, I’m Catholic but I don’t practice this religion, but most of my beliefs come from Catholicism. Anyways, every night before I go to bed I thank God for letting me live, and for having a good day, and I pray for things that I want in my life, or need. Whatever I pray for usually happens, no matter how small or big it is. When my dad was sick, the doctors said he would neveer get better, but I prayed and prayed and now he’s better! Well my real question is this, why won’t God let me be with a guy that I really like? I’ve liked him for such a long time and I’m always praying for God let me run into him, or to give me the chance to tell him how I feel, or for him to feel the same way, but it never happens. I know that he’s a REALLY good guy, he’s perfect for me, but why won’t God answer this prayer???
The reason is beacuse jesus isn’t god. Christianity is based on judism. get the picture? Its a bs religion.
he isnt real.
lol
because God picked somebody else that your meant to be with.
As christians, we are in partnership with Christ. We must do what is possible, and in return God does for us what we consiter to be impossible. If you want to start a relationship with this guy, you are going to have to take the initiative and go up to him. This is not God’s job, its yours.
G-d always answers the prayers of a righteous person - yes, no, or later “You can do more than pray, after you have prayed. But you cannot do more than pray until you have prayed.” “The Prayers of a Righteous Man.” What a powerful revelation to understand that in the eyes of our Lord, we have been made totally Righteous, Holy, and without blame before Him in Love! From the platform of this mighty revelation, we are to pray, understanding that our prayers have now become EFFECTIVE, and that they are availing MUCH with God. There is no man that can understand “God’s Much”. It is too high for us, but it is safe to say that His “MUCH” will be enough, as we pray “Thy will be done on Earth, as it is in Heaven.” (Matt. 6:10)
I have heard it said that to pray “Thy will be done” shows a lack of faith on our part. There is no plan, or thought of our own, that can improve on the perfect Will of God. We have been taught that the first thought God had about any subject was the right one and never needs to be changed. With a revelation in our hearts concerning the Perfect Character of our Lord, we lose all fear of His will being done in any situation. This is true because we know that His decision was made from His storehouse of perfect wisdom, knowledge, and love. His love for us is perfect, and therefore, His plan for us is perfect and is always for our spiritual good.
The Bride Revival that is now in progress is the result of the Bride laying aside her own thoughts and plans and praying to be shown God’s perfect will in every situation. That is to say, they are praying, “Lord, Thy will be done.” Even the Lord Jesus, in His flesh body, did the same. He said, “I only do what I see the Father do.” Again He said, “My meat is to do the will of the Him that sent Me, and to finish His work.” (John 4:34)
Please note that I am not teaching that an individual who believes the teaching of the Scriptures about healing should wonder whether or not God wants to heal him. The Scriptures are very clear on this point. But, when it comes to praying for another person, it is wise to be sure there is nothing in their life to hinder God keeping His Word. In other words, there are times when God cannot afford to heal, until certain things are moved out of the way, or made right! The Lord never violates His own Word, and healing is for those who desire to serve and obey Him. Otherwise, even if we are healed we will lose it! “Go and sin no more lest a worse thing come unto thee.” (John 5:14)
A Christian who is walking in all the light God has given him, and who constantly desires more Truth, with all his sins repented of and under the Blood, does not have to wonder whether or not it’s God’s will to heal him. To such a person our merciful Lord says, “Bless the Lord, O my Soul, and forget not all His benefits; Who forgiveth all thine iniquities, who healeth all thy diseases.” (Ps. 103:2-3)
Luke 11:1, “And it came to pass, that, as He was praying in a certain place, when He ceased, one of His disciples said unto Him, Lord, teach us to pray, as John also taught his disciples.” In verse two Jesus said, “When ye pray, say Our Father which art in Heaven, Hallowed be Thy Name, Thy Kingdom come, THY WILL BE DONE, AS IN HEAVEN, SO IN EARTH.”
Wanting G-d’s perfect will in our lives instead of I-want-what-I-want is the answer Only He knows what your life was destined to become “for a bigger purpose” from before you were conceived in your mothers womb. Life can be distracting. If it isn’t G-d’s perfect will for me to “be with someone”, I want to obey and wait on The LORD to guide me and provide circumstances to help me “press on” toward my mission in life - “to love the Lord my G-d with ALL my heart, soul, strength, and mind AND- my neighbor as myself. Everybody IS “my neighbor” Remember G-d knows before we ask, the desires of our heart. He’s NOT a cosmic slot-machne. Pray for others needs and let them pray for you. Also, G-d will not violate His own laws to give you what you think you need. He reads the intent of the heart and knows your every thought before you think it. Spend your time in dialogue with Him and listen more than you pray. You just may begin to hear the answers you don’t think are coming your way and be just as grateful for the “no’s” as you are the yes’s. After all, you are His baby.
Maybe God know something you don’t…perhaps there is something about this guy that is nasty and horrible and he just doesn’t want you to get hurt.,…because you cannot see into his heart…God can…and maybe what he sees isn’t that good…
Or maybe…he wants you to do this one on your own…”God helps those who help themselves” maybe he doesn’t want to do everything in your ife for u…I suggest that you pray for guidance and ask him what he wants you to do.
god gave you your own will.so you have decide to either give it to god.and don.t worry about.ort keep it to yourself and worry.god bless don.t worry be happy
I know that he’s a REALLY good guy, he’s perfect for me, but why won’t God answer this prayer???
It sounds like he HAS answered… NO…
Besides, why would you expect US to answer on behalf of GOD? And yes, this is a slightly self-absorbed question. You aren’t the only person involved in your little dilemma. What about the guy? What does HE want? Maybe he doesn’t want to be with you. Maybe he’s praying to God about wanting to be with a DIFFERENT girl than you. Maybe he’s a better Christian than you, and that’s affecting God’s decision in the matter.
Maybe you should just assume that, since you DO believe in God, and pray to him, that HE KNOWS WHAT IS BEST FOR YOU. And that perhaps this guy, who you think is ‘’perfect’’ for you… isn’t perfect at all…
If you believe in the Catholic god, then I assume you understand the concept of free will from that perspective?
If so, then you know that conception of god does not make people like other people. So even if your god is there and listening, he isn’t going to grant nor deny this particular wish.
It’s totally up to you to get this guy’s attention.
you make things happen in life so my question is why don’t you make something happen from this? actions speak louder than words
yea I guess he might not be THE ONE, but why cant I be with him meanwhile I find the petfect guy?
and joesaper, I dont really understand your advice..,can you explain it please? are you saying that I should just take action instead of praying for someone else to do it??
I believe that, if there is a God, that God only gives you the things you need. You have good health, happiness, a family that loves you, a roof over your head.. A boyfriend isn’t as important as all of those things.
I also believe that you have to work for things to happen. If you want to be with this boy, why not just tell him how you feel? God can give you the strength to do it, so why not give it a whirl?
I agree with brooke. God has a different path for you, with a different man. He may be able to see the bad in the man/boy you like, that you can’t see with the rose-tinted glasses.
You need to do this one yourself, gather the courage to tell him your feelings and hope that he feels the same. God will answer prayers for things that you yourself cannot do. If you pray for something you can simply achive then God will not answer your prayers.
Good Luck (Y)
How sad. This is not down to whether God is listening to you but its down to an innocent heart and growing up. The over whelming frustration you feel Wright now will pass in time, you will either realise this guy is not as great as you once thought or worse you will end up spending time with him where your total devotion will be obvious to him and he will abuse this. Please stop spending your time concentrating on what could be and spend more time on evaluating what makes this person so appealing to you. Some times we always want what we cant have! May be your prayers are being answered and God knows whats best and this person is not it. Putting faith in God the correct way would stop you feeling so anxious, why dont you try praying for strength in coping with your feelings!!!
I agree with Bonney, dont ask God to be with this person, if you would want to be with this person for the sake of God, then inshallah he will make it easier for you.
There may come a time, when you will be able to thank God for certain unanswered prayers, and many of the things that we as God for, are not his will for us to have, if you truly trust God, you will proceed with great caution in this area, seeing as how the divorce rate is currently 1 in 2, inside the church and out. That is beyond awful.
