Chocolate/cockroaches

I think what they were referring to is that the food and drug administration allows a small percentage (very miniscule in fact) of “foriegn matter” to be present in food.

what they allow is harmless to us- although to know the possibilities , to some may be a discusting thought.

I have never heard of roaches being an actual ingredient in our everyday run of the mill chocolate- a possible ‘accidental’ or ‘incidental’ ingredient- but never on purpose or by design.

in some parts of the world, insects (including cockroaches) are an important - and NUTRITIOUS staple to peoples diet.

we eat insect relatives all of the time - most crustaceans are related to insects (shrimp, lobster, crabs, crawfish) the main difference being they live in an aquatic environment.

I was told that chocolate had cockroches in it, they said that there is about four cockroches per bar . I never belived them I thought they were trying to scare me because I have a fobia of cockroches, so I decide to reaserch it and every where I search said yes it does and now I dont eat chocolate anymore. ewww atleast I will lose weight and stay healthy without feeling the need to eat cockroche filled chocolate . I would say the only way to completely eliminate bugs form chocolat is to make it absolutly from scrach in you own home , but keep a carefull eye they dont mix in at your own house :(

Actually, I’ve heard of this awful place where they sell things like caramelized scorpions, chocolate-coated bacon as well as chocolate-coated cockroaches. Some people seem to have developed a taste for them, but those kinds of people probably have toxicated tastebuds. Yuk…
