Has Chlamydia caused us to be infertile?

I know after a period of time Chlamydia can cause Infertility. My partner is male and has had Chlamydia for roughly around one year and a couple of months and I must have had it for around nine months but have been treated twice in this duration of time. We are both due to be treated very soon. We have been having unprotected sex through out and found it strange that I havn’t fallen pregnant. I was wondering if we have both had it long enough to cause infetilty?

Basically what mariahomygee said. You two keep passing it to eachother having un protected sex like that. stop having sex! Especially unprotected sex so that both of your chlamydia goes away once and for all! I dont know if you two are infertile, see a gyno about that.

sweetie, if you both are being treated for chlamydia, you aren’t supposed to have sex AT ALL so that the infection goes away once and for all. chlamydia isn’t that easy to get rid of. it takes about a week under doxy and another week for the pill to make the effect and for the infection to go away. if you keep having sex you’re going to keep passing it to each other and will never get cured. the infertility thing, yes you or him might be infertil if both of you had chlamydia for that long.

I had chlamydia 2 months ago, and I took the meds for a week, and my doctor recommended abstinence for 2 months until I got tested again. so I did. and I’m clean, and so is my boyfriend. now we can start having sex again.

it’s a matter of being responsible and have will power. if you get treated again, please try not to have sex with him, because he might be the one who’s infertil because he’s had the infection for more than a year, but you might still be able to concieve. just be careful and good luck!
