why do they not let children settle their differences with a fight? I mean come on amerca we didn't fend of the british by telling our grown us o

Answer #1

Violence brings forth more violence. With violence, there is always resentment, there is always revenge. Settling differences with violence will lead to just that. Violence never just ends with the initial blow, there is always the next, then the next, then the next. Violence also effects people on a psychological and emotional level “As medical research has shown, “excess exposure to traumatic violence will alter the developing central nervous system, probably by changing receptor sensitivity. This predisposes the victim to be a more impulsive, reactive and violent individual,” Harms writes from the University of Chicago. Peace, alternatively, allows growth and functionality along with closure. Working things out in a peaceful manner allow both parties to grow and come to an understanding of one another; compassion. Does this mean violence should never be used? In your example of the American Revolution, violence and war were used as a last resort after the Crown refused the colonies’ pleas and sent troops to blockade and arrest the leaders. Last resort. Violence sometimes is necessary to achieve a peaceful end result. In the case of self-defense, should someone attack you do you stand there and allow yourself to be attacked? Of course not, but once again, it is used as a last-resort. Your argument stating “why do they not let children settle their differences with a fight?” is not and would not be limited to just children. If everyone were to settle their differences or problems with violence, all the world would be at constant war, there’d be little happiness, little growth, little advancements and instead perhaps anarchy and destruction.
