Hi - many thanks for advise - we had a chi before but sadly died at xmas he was only 8 1/2 months he had a massive heart attack and died at vets - he had been sick for less than a day and we rushed him to vets and when they became worried about him gave him an x ray which showed that he had been born with a massive heart which was crushing all his other organs …must admit was surprised that this had not been detected when he had his injections (but I’m not a vet so don’t know). Anyway Simba who was by no means fat seemed to eat 3 times as much as Milo does now and I suppose with all the upset we are a bit panicky

He will keep growing or could keep growing up until about 1 yr old, they usually are pretty much as big as they are going to get at 6 months, just watch what you feed the dog, we get a lot of overweight chihuahua’s where I work and they end up with health problems.

Just try to remember their bellies are about the size of a dime. So a few meals through out the day is good, it may not seem like a lot to you but it is. He will not let himself starve. Green beans are good for dogs, YOu may want to make sure you are feeding him SMALL BITES, I like to use Nutro, but Science Diet also has small bites, I would mix a little bit of green beans in his food ( a little bit) then slowly take away the green beans, Trust me he will eat, with these little dogs you have to be very careful what you feed them. Mine do get popcorn, not a lot but they do love it. And they only get it when I make it for myself.

I must admit he is a very finiky eater and seems to hate dog food we seem to have to hand feed him chicken etc which I always swore I would never do but when they are so little you panic when they dont eat - how can we encourage him to eat dog food and if not can we buy a vitamin supplement ??? Many thanks for reply
