chihuahua nibbeling feet

My 4 yr old Chihuahua constantly bites his four feet - doesn’t draw blood. He gets plenty of exercise and attention and we make his dog food.

Answer #1

My female chihuahua started this last summer around the same time. I took her into work with me and she is fine, Seems to be something she is allergic to this time of year that is in the grass, So what I do it wash her feet when she comes in from being outside. I also was using a oatmeal shampoo I got from work for her. So I say try whiping the feet off or rinse them off after your dog has been outside

What do you feed it? some small dogs shouldn’t eat beef . at all !!! .. they get intoxicated with the food and maybe you won’t see it yet but the hair has to suffer some and the skin too from the toxins in the food.. might be a food allergy . in cats it;s more obvious hence their fur is more sensitive so it falls off.. you might have to consider what you feed it… dry complete foods are good.. the caned wet food is inconsistent :) hope it’s helpful.. :) but who know maybe it;s something else. I;m just trying to help

Sounds like it is having a skin allergy. This is a very common problem in small dogs. Take it to the vet and they will probably prescribe an allergy medication that should help. Sam
