Chest infection or more?
I started out with a cough 6 weeks ago. It quickly turned in to what I think is a chest infection. I have had 4 sets of antibiotics and none of them have worked, I first had amoxicillin 500ml then another type that began with c they wer 250ml I then had fluclocillin 500ml and then I had another set of 500ml antibiotics. I am coughing up greeny yellow phlegm which I had to send off to the hospital to be tested. I think I may also now have tonsillitis. I however have never had tonsillitis in my life and I am 18. Someone please help me make sense of what is going on as the doctor is useless and cant tell me.
I didnt think you would be able to figure it out, I thought you might be able to give me some friendly advice hence the name FUNADVICE.com. so thanks for the sarcasm but honestly what was the point in replying if all you are going to do is mock someone for asking a question! Your in the wrong job!
Listen, we’re not doctors - how can you honestly expect us to say anything more than ‘go back to the doctor’…?
Are you hoping we can diagnose you? Even someone who has had the same symptoms you have could end up giving you some harmful advice on what to do…we are not qualified to answer medical questions.
It’s simply common sense.
By the way - I answered your question with the only appropriate answer anyone here can give you…keep going back.
If the doctor can’t figure it out, what on earth makes you think we can??? Is it our lack of a medical degree that makes you feel so confident in our abilities?
Green mucous = obvious sign of infection…you say you had tests sent off - well, wait for the results, and just keep going back to the doctor.
Sometimes, they have to go through many possibilities before they find the right treatment.
