How do I get my cheeks to be less red without having to use foundation?

Answer #1

Are you in the sun alot? That can cause redness, I know I burn often without realizing and then have redness around my cheeks for a while.

Also make sure that you are hydrated and not too warm (overheating can also cause a permanent reddish tinge).

Then make sure that all of your make up products have the least possible ingredients, because the make up could actually worsen the redness, especially if it is old, due to a sensitivity.

Lastly , the redness probably won’t go away the first time you don’t wear make up, be a bit patient with it.

Answer #2

The only ake up i wear is mascara and eye shadow so it’s not on my cheeks and i am outside a lot but the sun isnt doing it all year around my cheeks are so red

Answer #3

I know they are not sun burned

Answer #4

You won’t necessarily know it. You can get burnt even in a little sun, this can cause damage to your skin and permanent redness.

Answer #5

Also make sure your face is moisturized because i know that when i stop moisturizing my face its starts to get red patchs

Answer #6

I honestly doubt its the sun, the sun is never even out in the winter like i know its not the sun

Answer #7

Clinique has a fantastic range of skincare to help with redness called redness solutions. I have the same problem and I love this range. Also, I know you said you were wanting a solution that didnt involve foundation, but another option for helping to hide the redness is to use a green or yellow tinted primer. Smashbox has a good one specifically designed for hiding redness.

Answer #8

It probably isn’t, but the sun doesn’t have to be out for you to burn. It depends where in America you live. Maybe you are sensitive to a certain skin cream or something else? I have very sensitive skin and cannot even use hypoallergenic products due to them having too many ingredients which causes me to have redness.

Answer #9

The redness is actually a kind of ‘infection’ under the skin. A friend of mine had red skin quite a lot and we went to a skin lady who told us al about it. You need to get a really good exfoliator and cleanser that will take away the oil and dirt in your skin before it has a chance to infect it. It could also be dietary, do you eat too much sugar? Try eating fresh vegetables more. Drinking lots of water also helps. Also ‘evening primrose oil’ is great for skin, hair and nails.

Answer #10

Oh maybe thats it, all i use is cordizone because my mom said that would help

Answer #11

Don’t like the rosy red cheeks, they can define your face.

Answer #12

Thanks!!

Answer #13

Dont what?

Answer #14

Thankyou!

Answer #15

Cordizone can worsen redness, believe it or not. I cannot use cortizone cream for a skin problem, because it worsens the problem. Why not try some plain aqueous cream for a week or two?

Answer #16

Your cheeks, you said they are red.
