Charlie Chaplin was an icon of the silent movie industry. He lead a colorful life on camera. But even though he made millions he did not choose to live the millionaire role. His portrayal of the classic charector “the little tramp” denoted the postive human spirit and humor in adverse conditions in that day. To this day, people who still watch his silent films are given to smile. He died Christmas Day.
