What are the chances of my piercings closing up after an infection in the holes?

The holes have went slightly crusty and painful, my mum had a look and said that the skin at the back has worn away, it’s my own fault, i wear cheap earrings, lesson learnt. Im treating it with antiseptic wipes and cream and am going to make an appointment with my doctor. Just wondering what the chances are of my peircings closing up?

Answer #1

very likely :O

i remember my ear piercing closing up after i changed the earing from a stud to a loop…. it got infected and it closed up afterwards…

so you have to switch to a gold plated or silver stud… take it out, clean the hole, put it back in, clean it half an hour later again also you should use a disinfectant, like alcohol…

I was having the same problem. My mother applied some cream and the wound got dry and I still have the hole LOL

Answer #3

very likley epsecially if they were new wounds or were made new wounds by an infection. its very likley they will close up and heal over. always wear jewelrey made from surgical steel. as cheap metal will lead to infection

Answer #4

if you wanted to have a piercing or tattoo for all your life but hesitated, than don’t do it. It’s just not for you

Answer #5

if this is your first time getting your ears pierced. i am getting mine pierced next week but this time it has to be real b|c i am allergic to fake but since fifth grade mine have grown i have no holes in my ears what so ever.

Answer #6

if you are not going to take care the piercing wound - then you definitely will have some problems.

Piercing wounds are closing up only if you remove ring for a very long time; and not in all cases btw.

but if you really worry ab infection, pain and all the stuff - than piercing or tattoo is not something you should do.

yes..mine did..i had my belly button pierced for a few months..well a little longer than a few months…and it was infected so i took the ring out to clean it and it was only out for like 5 minutes, and i tried to put it back in and it wouldnt go..i thought it was just swollen..but it never went in since then..lol..and that sucks because i had just bought $100 dollar belly rings…lol
