Did my cat get run over?

So yesterday my smart brother left the door open for ten minutes and when I went outside the cat was gone, we searched for him but he left that was around the afternoon. Then I heard scratching on the door around 3 a.m I noticed he was slightly limping and saw his left paw is red and nails look irritated and he cut himself in one finger/paw. It does not look to serious but I’m still worried.

He could have, numerous things could’ve happened though. He could’ve run into another animal and got into a fight or something, you’ll never truly know, so for now just worry about taking care of him.

I doubt he was ran over, like kayla said, he probably got into a fight or got bit by a dog or something. If he was ran over, the damage would have been worse and the person who would have done it would most likely have taken it to a vet or the owner if possible.

Possibly a fight with a cat, we have an outside cat, though more part of our family and we have a feral cat that is coming around and messing with him, and he always has a nasty wound, on his paws or forehead. So if your cat got hit by a car, depending on how it did, he would be more likely meowing, or in shock.
