Can I work for the National Transportation Safety Board?

I’m 13 at the moment and was wondering how much do you get paid to become a member of th N.T.S.B (national transportation safty board) and what skills do you need?

Answer #1

Hi,

An entry-level member of the NTSB is on the General Schedule 9 of salaries, and thus makes a little more than $30,000/year.

A senior level working about 14 years for the agency will be General Schedule 13 or 14, which makes about $55-70,000/year.

A senior staff member of the agency will make a little less than $100,000/year.

To be on the Board, you need to be specialized in a certain area. Examples include aircraft avionics, hydraulics, data specialists, and helicopter specialists.

Good luck.
