How do you make carbonated water?

My boyfriend says you can make it by boiling water and then freezing it right away. Does it work that way? Because i’m thinking thats now how to make it… Or if it will work.

No I don’t think that works at all, in fact I am fairly certain that the boiling process drives out any gases that may be giving the water a degree of “sparkle”. Subsequent cooling / freeaing of the boiled water would give ice which would just be totally flat when it melted.

Carbonated water can be made in the home using a compressed carbon dioxide cylinder that injects the carbon dioxide into a suitable bottle.

This is done a “soda syphon” using a small carbon dioxide “bulb”

or with a device that uses much bigger CO2 cylinders e.g. a “Soda Stream”
