Can You work for the FBI with a felony charge ( not Conviction )?

I was charged with a Felony Animal abandonment and falsifying an official Document While I worked for the Sheriff’s Office. I didn’t actually do the crime, I just covered up for someone and learned a valuable lesson. I was not convicted however, infact, I was released from Probation a year early by my probation officer. I returned to school. I would like to work within the FBI but as an informent of something like that. Is it Possible? Or Did I really screw up trying to keep someone from going down? I know I should’t have done it. I’ve learned from that now. I hope that I can work past this.

The FBI Headquarters in Washington, D.C. is in the J. Edgar Hoover Building, 935 Pennsylvania Avenue, NW Washington, D.C. 20535-0001. Phone: (202) 324-3000 Why not just give them a phone call and ask them ? You might as well get your answer directly from them. Who else would know better? :-)

You can probably work as an informant (lots of informants have criminal records)…but to be an actual employee of the FBI…I doubt it. Unless that feleny charge went to trial and you were found innocent, or it was dropped all together.

You cannot because they know that you plead guilty to the felony charge, the judge just with held it from the paperwork. You are very luck that he was that nice because it will help you get a lot of jobs, but you will not be able to get a job with the FBI, the State Patrol, be and EMT, and quite a few other things because they do intense background checks on each applicant. It doesn’t matter if it happened 20 years ago, they are strict on these policies.
