Can you get pregnant this way?

My fiance wants to have sex without a condomn and he wants to cum in me. I’m on birth control but can I still pregnant? If so, whats the chances of it happening? We want kids eventualy, so if I do get pregnant its not that biggie, but we both would rather hold off on kids.

You can become pregnant but the pill is 99% reliable if you’re using it correctly.

I’ve been taking the pill for 3 years and have unprotected sex with my partner and I’ve never gotten pregnant.

If you’re in a monogamous relationship and you’re both clean and you’re on birth control then there’s no need for a condom. (that’s the whole point of birth control)

Ok here’s my lil rant to everyone who says you need a condom with the pill- You’re birth control is as strong as your strongest method. Condoms are only about 80% reliable and the pill is 99.9% effective(if used perfectly; 97% if not ). If you have a condom break it’s like using no condom at all… so you’re chances of pregnancy are still only .01% to 3% - so what’s the point of using a condom if it’s effectiveness is lower? (except to prevent STDs of course.) Just think about the math before you freak out.

And to the people that say “well I know someone…” Chances are they weren’t taking the pill as religiously as they should or they had a complication (medication interaction, obesity, vomiting or diarrhea.) Especially for those on a tri-phasic pill. The hormone doses change throughout the pill pack so taking one even the slightest bit late raises your chances of pregnancy significantly. (most people I’ve heard of “”getting pregnant while on BC”” were on a tri-phasic pill.)

Yes, you can still get pregnant. The chances are slim, but go up if you have a problem keeping it down, or have been taking antibiotics. If you both want to hold off on kids, continue to use condoms with the BC. If you both still want to try without a condom, maybe he should also pull out. It’s not 100%, because of precum, but it is a little better than no other method used with the BC. College is very promising for anyone, you don’t want to slow it down. A child may even make you decide to stop altogether until a much later date, or not go again at all. I’ve seen it happen. Also, if you haven’t both been tested, do that. Even if you both know you don’t have anything, it will put you mind more at ease. One last thing, I have heard from guys that the really thin condoms are very similar to nothing at all. The only reason it isn’t the same is because they know it is on. If you get those, you can still be very intimate, and safe. He could even cum inside you, and the sex is still very real. Just pretend it’s not there.

I know hes your fiance but a lot of couples go and have a screening done for std’s before they start having sex now days. he might not know where all of his last partners had been (if he has had other partners) and you might not either?

Answer #4

Most mono-phasic pills are good. I use Ortho Cyclen, but that doesn’t mean its the best pill for you. Different brands have different hormone levels and will effect you differently so it’s important to see a gyno or a doctor.

Thats what I thought sikashimmer. Thanks. As for as being tested, My fiance is my first, and He’s in the military so he’s been tested every 6 months and he’s clean. What kind of birth control pills is the most effect?

Answer #6

I was told that there is a very good chance of getting pregnant on birth control. So if you want to hold off on having kids then I would continue to have sex with a condom. When you both are ready to have children then you can stop using condoms and birth control but until then stay protected.

Answer #7

Please do not have sex without a condom. Tell him no way are you having sex without a condom because all the diseases that are killing people left and right. Even if he says he hasn’t been with anyone. Ya never know.

Answer #8

It’s about a 2% chance of it happening! So yeah, you could get pregnant but it’s VERY unlikely!

Answer #9

excellent then go to it woman what are you on here for lol. good luck with everything, xx

Answer #10

Just because he is your fiance does not mean that he could not have a form of STD, or for that fact AIDS/HIV. But yes there is a chance even with birth control you could get pregnant. It is a small chance but still. My sis in law had four kids and everyone of them were while she was on birth control. The docs did not understand either. The only thing that is 100% that you will not get pregnant is abstinence.

Answer #11

I’m not worried about stds. Hes my fiance. But I’m in college and a baby can slow that down.

Answer #12

UUUHhhh pregnant yes! and STD’s for sure!!!

Answer #13

Just dont miss any pills or you could be in trouble. did you also know if you have diahrea or vomiting you will lose some of the pill you have taken. it makes the risk worse for pregnancy. keep healthy and take your pill regularly.

Answer #14

You can most definitly still get pregnant. I know two people who have gotten pregnant while on the pill. Its more common then people think. So, if you aren’t planning kids, use condoms as well. Just like ‘bigmuma’ said… things like diarrhea or vomiting can lose some of the pill. Also if you are taking any medications, they can stop the pill from working. Some medications completely shut out the birth control so it doesn’t do anything.
