CAN'T WE ALL JUST GET ALONG?

Something I Find FUNNY! (It literally makes me laugh) So on this site, people ask questions and ask for advice. A Bible believer gets called a “Bible thumper “ for saying what he or she believes and giving advice according to their beliefs… But by saying “There is no God” or “Religion is bad” aren’t non believers doing a little thumping of your own? (Pot calling Kettle black is what I say) ANY WAY why do we critisize eachothers opinions? and insult others because of what they believe? I mean can’t we all just get along?? P.S. God Loves You.

Answer #1

A very simple way would be for each to just simply say what you believe…

and leave it at that, instead of attacking others, for what they believe.

all religions seems to be represented on this board, so… just let everyone say what they want… and don’t call people names.

Is that too hard???

Answer #2

Amblessed you don’t get it. We know that’s in the bible. But simply. WE DON’T BELIEVE IN THE BIBLE. Any argument that uses the bible to condemn us has no barring on us.

Answer #3

I think that theres no need to argue about religion. Simply because non of us REALLY no the actual truths of life and whats out there.

Therfore yes you have the right 2 your own opinion but 2 argue about it is a little silly because no one will ever win as neither side has proove x

Answer #4

The only questions I see real dissent from areligious people is in the ones specifically asking questions about belief or religion, as opposed to asking about some particular religion’s practices. On the other hand, the “bible thumpers” like to have a go at anyone who isn’t practicing their particular brand of religion.

Answer #5

Arguing religion is a waste of time dats really true… but in ma opinion we should get along as this site was not created to criticize others.

Answer #6

If anyone even has a little knowledge of the Bible, Jesus clearly commands His own in Mark 16:15 - so if they are faithful, they obey their Lord and Savior - surprisingly that fact escapes so many, especially those that constantly tell Christians “I know more Bible tham you could ever know”, as I’ve seen on this site - so bottom line: they are to be witnesses for Him, caring enough to share good news - many may, but I don’t want to see anyone perish.

Answer #7

lol Maybe someday we’ll get along, but religions have always clashed and in the history of the world, when atheism sprang up, it clashed with many religion Its been happening for hundreds of years, it’ll continue to happen History has the weird tendency of repeating itself We would all be able to get along as long as we can have the ability not to take offence when someone seems to be pushing their own religious ideals on you So let’s try not to say P.S. God Loves You Because that may offend a few people

Answer #8

I think it’s because the thumpers seem to feel the need to condemn everyone else at all times.

People ask a lot of questions about how to practice Wicca for example, and the answers get filled with nonsense about Satan and hell by the thumpomatic 9000 crowd.

But when people ask questions like “what do Catholics believe…”, you don’t often see nonbelievers spamming those questions with irrelevant “god doesn’t exist” answers.

We can’t “just get along”, because our ideas are in competition.

Answer #9

I see the discussions a lot like you do, jesusismysavior…and I’m not on either side of the religious fence…The “spouting” types of believers and non-believers must actually believe that somehow if you spout your piece often enough, that a light switch just might go off in someone’s head…they argue as tho they might actually change another person’s mind…

Arguing religion is a waste of time.

Answer #10

because, peoples opinions sometimes are thought to be stupid by others which makes them not like them.

Answer #11

that would be nice

Answer #12

I think religious tolerance would be great. But look at the last Wicca post.

Answer #13

I think you fail to see that its the majority of christians on this site doing the bashing when someone says they dont beleive in anything, there generally stating there opinion…they beleive there is no god, but they have nothing to preach christians on the other hand have something to preach, and feel the need to tell people about it, even it questions not realting to religion you dont see athiests running around in the street saying “dont beleive in god” and they only reason they insault people is usally because theyve been insaulted first, or been told there going to hell, I hope you make the right choice, or something like god bless you…when the christian answering the question can clearly see that they dont care about there “god” or any other “god” without respect, theyll get none in return and if we all just got along, we’d live in a pretty boring world people need to have there differences

Answer #14

yes and that little part at the end of your question- p.s.- god loves you, a great example of a “jab” at non- believers, and in most cases an invite to a drawn out argument. we can all get along- as long as we simply make our statement (leave our opinion), and try not to be too offensive about it. where the problems start are when the “zealots” begin spouting something as “the truth” and all non believers are going to burn in the fiery pit- to me these people fall into the category of brainwashed cult members- they have been programmed to respond and their minds are simply not flexible enough to handle the possibility of other “possibilities”. the aforementioned group of individuals usually try to “save” people, and place religious scripture on other peoples profiles- these people usually do not last long on this site. as I have stated on many occasions- I believe what I believe- you believe what you want to believe- and don’t cram your beliefs down my throat- because I will defend my beliefs when applicable.

Answer #15

jesusismysavior most people complain about religion being brought up where it doesnt belong… I will agree that if you’re religious and believe religion does concern everything then you’re unlikely to see a seperation, but there really is… When someone tells a 13 year old they’re going to hell for being gay, I’m sorry but you’re going to see some anger… (and no I’m not talking about in posts asking about being gay and going to hell), when it is brought up as a justfication to stop people’s rights, again you’re going to see people not being too happy… when people can stop bringing up religion in places it doesnt belong, then everyone else will stop needing to criticize them… after all you dont see atheists and agnostics out trying to convert people… its the religious who feel the need to bring everyone over to the “truth” (whichever particular truth they believe in)

Answer #16

I think it is because everyone has their own individual opinion about what they believe and if anyone says something that does not agree to them, they find it offensive. I believe in the Bible and I have to admitt I find it offensive when people dont believe and it hurts me to know they dont believe, but that is because I am a believer. I guess I just dont understand others reasons for not believing. Yes I know many dont believe because they dont have proof other than the bible and stories. Yes it would be great if we could let everyone speak their mind and be entitled to their own opinion but it is not going to happen. I usually let people be entitled to their opinion in tell the attack what I said directly, then I get a little offensive. But at the same time non-believers dont have to bash us believers because they believe, and that happens just as often as those who believe preaching their believes.
