Can someone tell me why you cannot go by sizes at this store?

First I want to state that the clothes at the 99 cent store are very good quality and are beautiful. they are Ralph Lauren, Talbots, Old Navy, etc. But I noticed that you cannot go by sizes there. I am very thin, size 4,6,8 and I have bought tons of winter and summer things there. However, today I was in the 99 cent store and I saw a white top with black trim on the collar (which I purchased) said size 22 Women. I measured it to a size 4 blouse there and they were the same exact size. My friend Stacy noticed the same thing

maybe they are discounted to 99 cents because they are labeled with the wrong size. A lot of times name brand items will be sold for cheap thrift stores and the like because they are sized wrong or have some other kind of imperfection.

Answer #2

Agree’d with both above comments. You ARE Stacy (you told us on multiple occasions), and it could have possibly been marked wrong.

To ridgerunner: NO they are name brands, not knock offs but I like the rest of your answer

Answer #4

Two reasons: First, the stock is overstock, and discontinued items, insurance loss auction items etc. That is why you can buy Ralph Lauren for 99 cents. Unfortunately the size selection leaves a lot to be desired. Ususlly the sizes are weird…either for enormous people, or for Leprachauns. This is because these are the odd lots left over that did not sell in the mainstream stores, like Nieman Marcus, Bon Marche, Bullocks etc. Second: many of the products are what is known as “knock-offs” they are replicas or counterfeits of name brand merchandise Sometimes the name is spelled different “Deesel” Jeans, or “Tony Boy” and sometimes it is just plain fake, like all the Louis Vuitton bags at the swap meet

Answer #5

Maybe they are what is called second quality, which is usually mislabeled as imperfects and missized among other things. and maybe they were sized for a differant countrys sizing systems. . . . then again it maybe that a rolex is not always a rolex. . . . or should I say real name brand tags on sweat shop products.
