Can I still smoke and drink once in awhile?

Is it ok to drink or smoke while pregnant if you dont do it everyday?

Answer #1

NO. it can cause athesma in the baby, lung cancer in later life, brain damage, still birth, miscarriage… and the list goes on. but it was good to ask cause at least you are trying to be good for the baby you are going to have. but even if the temptation is really really big. don’t do it, not for yourself, but for your baby.

Answer #2

If you do, even not everyday, your baby can die or have serious problems. If you respect life, you won’t.

Answer #3

No I would not suggest smoking and/or drinking while pregnant. It can cause serious problems. You are not only hurting yourself but also the baby while doing this.

Answer #7

Ok, now you are pissing me off. You need to grow up. What planet are you from to even have to ask that question? NO, YOU CAN KILL YOUR CHILD!!! Geeze :(

Answer #8

Oh… hun, you have a lot of growing up to do. Yes, you very well could drink and smoke, but you could also cause problems to your baby. You may not know about these problems until your baby is a toddler, or a school aged child. Smoking pot has been linked to ADD/ADHD, mental slowness and not to mention withdrawals. Yeah, some people say pot has no withdrawals, well they’re wrong. There is one, and that is inability to sleep. Your baby will already have you up a lot, you don’t want him/or her to keep you up more than it has to. A (one) glass of wine is considered acceptable toward the end of pregnancy, but it’s best for you to just avoid it altogether. One thing I do when I’m around people who are drinking is have sparkling cider there to drink out of a pretty wine or champagne glass. The best thing to do is avoid them both. You don’t want to have ANY reason to blame yourself for any defects your child may have. You want to be able to know you did everything in your power to make sure your baby is healthy and happy when it’s born. As far as how you go through your childbirth, that is your decision. If you want to try natural (I’m going to) then go ahead, you can always get the epidural later (as long as you haven’t dialated too far). There are also other pain management options. I just learned about them last week in my childbirth class. For now, just make sure you get to your doctor once a month, take your prenatal vitamins (you can get them at Walmart or a drugstore if you don’t have any prescribed), don’t stress too much, and avoid soft cheeses, too much tuna fish and cold meats. (they can harm your baby too, just microwave you sandwhich meat until it is steaming, then eat it :]) You can look all this up on Google or any other search engine on the internet. you can also get all this information from your doctor. Feel free to message me if you’d like. I’m 32 weeks, so I’ve been through what you’ve been through, and it’s all still pretty fresh on my mind :]

Answer #9

should I get an epadural or have it natural? I kinda wanted it natural but would it be to much for me since im so young?

Answer #10

My mum smoke through 7 pregnancys and all of us are absolutly fine no pros what so eva she had the drinks at the weekends and that was it also day proved a small glass of wine every now and then DOES NOT DO ANY HARM TO THE BABY

Answer #11

No. Even just a few drinks can in some cases result in fetal alcohol syndrome, and your baby doesn’t need nicotine hampering her development either.

By the way, take prenatal vitamins daily as recommended if you are not already doing so.

Answer #12

A BIG NO on that one. Definitely, no smoking. You have to know that. And though some people may say a glass of wine is probably okay once in a while, I wouldn’t take any chances. You can wait a few months.

Instead of thinking about those things, try thinking of healthy things for your baby.

Another thing, if you take Lamaze classes, they should be able to tell you all you need to know about having a baby.

Answer #13

Answer #14

Answer #16
