Can a dog get a illness from being locked in a garage for 8 weeks?

Hello I just bought a german sheperd puppy today and I was wondering if it can get some type of illness from being locked in a garage for 8 weeks full of feces (poo & pee) (thats how the people had them)and if so is it fatal/contagious becasue I already have a 2 year old german sheperd.(sympthoms include:vomiting/shaking and very skinny.)

Thank you

yes the dog would get sick for being locked up that long because it needs to get out.. there would be a lot of germs in that area and the dog could catch a diesase or something… EXCPECIALLY I fits a German Shepered Puppy!

German Sheperads ROCK by the way

You should probably take him to the vet before it spreads, and if you have children they would be touching him and kissing and cuddleing the dog they could get an infection.

if it is parvo then it can die… I brough a labrador which the people didnt want anymore and we took it straight to the vets and it had parvo it was horrid the dog got given tablets and everything but it was in such a state she died but yeah the other dog can get it so I would suggest taking it to the vets asap because if it has got parvo then the whole of your house where the dog has been will need to be cleaned thoroughly because it is very contagous.

good luck x

Yes, take the puppy to the Vet ASAP. Hopefully your older dog is up on all his shots, but you should separate them.

You also should ask your parents to report the people to your local animal control agency. They can call and give the people’s address and the animal control officers will investigate the place. This sounds like a backyard breeding set-up and you need to think about the many other puppies they will subject to this filth. Tell your parents they will not have to give their own names, just the address of the people who sold you the puppy.

This is animal cruelty and neglect and should be reported.

Good luck with your puppy. Just wondering…how much did you pay for the puppy?

They usually get Parvo(vomiting and diarrhea)from being in there own fices..If vomiting a lot and not keeping anything down use pepto bismuth sp? give water in a dropper every half hr. and do not expose to other dogs. wash hands after handling. Parvo is very contagious to dogs only. if your other dog is up to date on shots it will prob. be just fine.it is spread through saliva , feces and urine..

yes it will be full of bacteria and germs, this will no doubt make the dog sick, and any wounds the dog has wont be able to heal and can easily become infected there are MANY diseases the dog can also have caught you will need to take the dog for a check-up at a vet to see how healthy it is and if it has any diseases you need to do this before you bring it into your home to avoid you and/or your family/pets getting sick too feel free to feed it, etc for now, but take it to a vet asap
