California Super Lotto

Is the California Super Lotto really 100% random like how the lotto officials claim? Or has there been some type of number patterns that have been tracked and are more likely to come up? In an average week, how many Californian’s 18 and over purchase a lotto ticket? (Or what %) I noticced that the bigger the jackpot gets, the more money that builds to the next drawing. Is that because the jackpot growth is based on a % increase or does it just have to do with more people buying tickets when the jackpot is higher?
