Is it better to buy a car towards the end of the year if you can wait that long..

I’d follow what goran said above but also its better to wait a while, in the case that your planning on getting a brand new vehicle, because if you buy a car as soon as it comes out there still may be some problems with the car. After a few months though the dealers and the other companies that they work for should have all the small problems figured out and fixed so when you purchase the car it will run efficiently and hopefully longer. ~Alanna

I had always heard that car dealerships have to pay tax on all unsold cars left on their lots at the end of the year. So that’s usually when I’ve done my car shopping. They are also trying to make room on their lots for the new years models. So, that’s when I can usually work out the best deal.

I also try to make the best deal I can, get that in writing, then bring in the trade-in if I have one. That tends to make any deal I’ve gotten even better. I also look for the most desperate sales person on the lot. I can usually talk him down lower than the best sales person on the lot. But you have to be willing to walk away.

But when buying any car, doing some research on the car, and on the price will put you in the drivers seat when making the deal.
