Should I buy a skateboard from Target or Skate Shop?

Beginner skater questions I’ve been really interested in skateboarding for a while now. But don’t know anyone who skates. I was wondering if it’s wise to get the cheap skateboard at target rather than getting the $100+ skateboards for a beginner. And also any beginner advice or tips would be really appreciated. And also is there anykind of ethics or norms in skateboarding like for example in football if some one dribbles between ur legs its very shameful?

One a target will b cheaper but the one at the skateshop will b better built, so I say skateshop

Answer #2

It would be best to get a cheap skateboard from Target, since you are a beginner. Once, you start landing the moves and got everything down. Move on to the more expensive boards, that last forever, and are for serious skateboarders.

Answer #3

Not a skater but I used to sell skateboards in some of the bike shops I worked at. My 8 year old daughter has a department store skateboard but all she does is ride it: no jumps or tricks. If or when she starts trying to Ollie I’ll pony up for a nicer board. Her deck and trucks look decent; not sure how well they would hold up to hard riding but they look like reasonable quality. Its bearings are really cheap and it has odd narrow hard wheels. It might be ok with new wheels and bearings. Once you go down the road of upgrading one part at a time it usually doesn’t take long before you spend as much as you would on a complete real skateboard though.

def the skateshop

Answer #5

I would say the Skate shop because I bet the skateboards are better there.
