Is the term "boyed" common?

ok at my college we use the word boyed instead of rejected. so for example ‘ben tried to get with lucy but she boyed him’ (meaning she like rejected getting with him) I want to know if this word is just used at my college or is it common used? because my friends out of college are like what does boyed mean? thank x

Nope,

I’ve never heard of it. And I go to a pretty big “party” school ;)

I’ve never heard of it, but school’s and colleges often have unique words or ways to describe things - used all the time, but they usually never spread beyond the school or college. At my college, it was “spoon”, basically used in the place of “vege” or “cabbage” when used to describe people who aren’t that bright. Came about because our English teacher yelled at some people in class, telling them she can’t spoon-feed them information all the time. It caught on and everyone ran with it, but people from outside college had no idea what a “spoon” or “spoon school” was. I still call my brother Spoon - he’s quite bright actually, but sometimes is a complete dumbass.

So don’t be surprised if your friends from elsewhere don’t know what “boyed” is. No doubt they’ve got some term at their school to describe something which you’ve never heard of.
