Is it really possible to be bulimic and anorexic at the same time?

Answer #1

i don’t understand either of those words

Answer #2

Then don’t comment on the question.

Answer #3

It is. At times, an anorexic person either breaks and binge eats and then feels guilty and throws it back up, or they eat only when someone forces them to, and let it back out later. I’ve known two people that are like this.

Answer #4

one leads to the other

Answer #5

Yes, it is possible to be both. If a person does not eat, and what little they do eat they throw up, then they can be considered both anorexic and bulimic.

Answer #6

I think it would be possible, but I don’t understand how because if you don’t eat what are you going to trow up?

Answer #7

No. In order to be diagnosed with bulimia, you actually have to binge. If you throw up what you eat it is simply called purging.

Answer #8

No. Anorexics may binge and purge, and bulimics may restrict, but it is two different criteria and you wouldnt be diagnosed with both. You could be diagnosed with an eating disorder NOS though.

Answer #9

no not really. you can be diagnosed with anorexia with bulimia tendencies. but not both anorexia and bulimia.
