bod mod...say what??

I’m getting my tongue split next friday and I was wondering if anyone knows how bad it hurts or if it even hurts at all??? I’ve wanted this done ever since I seen lizard man in 3rd grade, so I’ve had plenty of time to think about it and do my research. plus its reversable. your opinions would be much appreciated. XD

I say go 4 it I’ve been wanting 2 split my tongue as well but im not sure I can handle it im pretty sure it hurts but not as much like some people say I hear that it hurts and feels gross when you rinse your mouth with water for the first time but GOOD LUCK

Answer #3

but this is what most people don’t know, your tongue is 2 seperate muscles. that is why it is able to be split. they don’t give you meds or numbing pain for any of this unless you go to a surgeon.

Answer #4

I would think it would hurt, It is the strongest muscle in the human body. How do they do it and do you get any pain meds after or novacain before?

Answer #5

well yeah lol unless they numd it but I doubt they will, and if they do it the wrong way you can lose your tounge

Answer #6

while it is reversable, it wont look exactly as it did before and it has a high chance of growing back together within the first year so it might not work out exactly how you wanted it or look like what you wanted it too but if youve had lots of time to think about it and are sure its something you want to get, for yourself then go for it, its just another type of body modification

Answer #7

The pain involved in it all depends on how much pain you personally can handle. Most of the time, piercings aren’t near as painful as some peoplemake them out to be. If it’s something you truly want, don’t whimp out… go through with it and it’ll be done before you know. Then you’ll be happy. As long as you go to a professional place and follow the proper cleaning/caring ways, you should be just fine.

I posted this in another question you answered, but I’m going to post it here in case:

natty, hopefully you’ve done ENOUGH research, and know that a “reversed” split tongue won’t get your tongue back to normal.

By removing the skin on the inside of the split and then suturing the tongue back together, it can be induced to “go back to normal”. I know of no one who has willingly undergone such a procedure, although it has been forced on some people by new military regulations in the United States. Tongue splitting reversal is far more painful than splitting and takes far longer to heal and seems more prone to complications.

Because of scarring and other damage done during the reversal operation, permanent damage to tongue mobility is not unheard of, leaving a shortened and narrowed tongue that is not as nimble, which of course damages speech and other activities. In addition, nerve damage from the reversal procedure is more likely than from the initial split and there have been reports of damage to both touch and taste sensations in tongue splitting reversal procedures.

Reversing a tongue splitting is strongly discouraged — don’t split your tongue if you think you might have to reverse it in the future.
