Will the Doctor know how I got the bladder infection?

I got a bladder infection from having sex. I haven’t told anyone yet but it hurts REALLY REALLY bad!!! I’m only 14 and my dad isn’t supposed to know I had sex. If I go to the doctor will they have any way of knowing that I got the infection from sex?

My only advice is to not have sex at your age. If your having sex then I also suggest that you let your dad or someone know because this way you can get some birth control or something.

They might ask, and if they do an exam they could find out. Usually all they do is a urine sample, and have it tested for an infection.

There are ways to get rid of a bladder infection before it gets serious. LOTS OF WATER! -Try drinking lots of water for a full day, (even cranberry juice). If you are not feeling better then see a doctor. You can ask to see the doctor without your dad there- Just let your dad know you are uncomfortable with him in the room.

Bladder infections can turn into kidney infections if you are not careful and get it treated!

Also if you tell your dad you have a bladder infection- he could get you over the counter medication! (Not all bladder infections are from sex)
