How should I dye my hair black?

I have an ash brown hair color right now and I am wanting to dye my hair black. should I use temporary, semi, or permanent ? and If I don’t like it, is there a safe way to bleach and go back without completely ruining my hair? PLEASE HELP! I really want to do black

You may want to try temporary and see if you like it, then go from there. Semi-permanent is less damaging because it usually doesn’t have ammonia in it. But with black dye, even semi-permanent can be difficult to get out if you decide you don’t like it. If you have the right skin-tone for it though (even fair skin can look nice with black hair), black hair can be fun. I’ve had black hair for about 2 years now and i love it. It’s striking, and can look both edgy or sleek and professional, depending on how you wear it. Good luck, and have fun.

It depends on how long you want it for.

Once you go to black its very hard to go lighter again. So if you are planning on going lighter, then plan on using a semi. A temp would only be good if you wanted it for a few days, but its hard to get evenly on your hair, and will make a mess. Use a permanent, if you are serious about black hair and you dont want it to fade.
