Will birth control kill the baby?

Ok say you had sex and the guy came in you. And a week later you statred taking birth control. Can you still be pregnant or will it kill the baby because It was so soon?

Answer #1

You can still be pregnant, it’s not going to act like a morning after pill.

If you keep taking your birth control pills, the hormones in the pill will affect the baby.

Answer #2

Birth control isn’t 100% effective…I’m sure you’ve heard that before…so yes you still can be pregnant. Taking EC (Emergency Contraception-morning after pill) within 72 hours of intercourse can prevent pregnancy, but also again, is not 100% effective. I’ve heard taking birth control during pregnancy can cause birth defects, that’s why they tell you you shouldn’t take it if you plan to become pregnant or are already pregnant.

my boyfriend and I were fooling around and we didnt have a condom and this was 5 days ago, tomorrow im going on the pill my doctor said to start it tomorrow but he didnt know about this, my boyfriend swears he didn’t come in me and he was only in for a second because I stopped it, he has never came when we were having sex and we have been doing it for a month or two. im scared I could be pregnant and its too late for emergency contreseption. I dont want to cause birth defects if I am going to end up having the baby, im against abortions but I was wondering if anyone had any thoughts on if I might be pregnant and maybe their experiences if they are ok sharing, im scared :(
