Biology question

What will happen if a sea star is pulled into pieces?

I know its very random, but I cant find the answer!

the first person was right starfish can grow back there limbs if you kill it by cutting the middle were its stomatch is, then it will die and the amputated limbs do not grow into another starfish

well if you cut one of the arms off it will grow back or it will grow a whole other starfish

Depends which piece you pull off - you can kill them by excessive amputation in areas that they’re incapable of growing back in (: It won’t “grow into a whole other starfish” - imagine it as a tree: if you cut off branches they’ll usually grow back and the tree will be fine. The branches themselves, however, will not grow into new trees. And if you cut the trunk in two, then the tree will die. Same with starfish (:
