The last time I watched CNN I believe it was,I had a hard time understanding every big word they were saying,why do people always use such big words when they can say it nice and simple?
Sorry if that sounded childish,didn’t know how else to write it.
It just fits the context better, remember news papers and news stations serve ALL types of people (and no one will really complain if they are too professional, but some people might complain if they are too unprofessional), so the more professional, the more viewers they’ll get.
Also, it gives you a chance to broaden your vocabulary. The only way that you and your personality can grow is by challenging yourself. It will make you a better, more interesting person.
