What's the big deal with the whole Bill Passing thing in Wisconsin?

I don’t understand who’s trying to do what.

Answer #1

The democrats didnt want to take part in the equalizing of the states budget, which means that the Wisconsin government was going to eliminate their debt, and the democrats ran away to an “undisclosed location” because they want to spend more money that they don’t have for more power and to make the government bigger by having people rely on the government more. State governments should especially not be doing this, its unconstitutional, and yet the US govt is doing the same thing. Spending money we dont have… its sad, but the same thing that happened to egypt might happen here if things get out of hand…

Answer #2

Basically the Republicans in Wisconsin gave huge tax breaks to corporations and then asked state employees to start paying more for their benefits to make up the shortfall and long term to give up their right to collectively bargain so the state can continue to underpay them.

2/3’s of corporations in Wisconsin pay no state tax.

The missing Democrats know that they can not delay the vote forever but their walkout may cause national attention and pressure for Republicans to be more reasonable.

Answer #3

obviously we have the whole spectrum here. :)

Answer #4

the national debt of 12 trillion is too high and the dollar will no longer be accepted by other countries, every state in the U.S will go bankrupt and we will all work for a loaf of bread.

Answer #5

You are a Redskins fan in Texas? Dude, you better watch your back. My Brother-in-law used to wear a Redskins jacket and there were times I thought we were going to die.
