How do I even out a big chunk in my hair?

I usually cut my hair by myself, but I let my cousin do it the other day. She thought she could give me layers, but it didn’t work. Now the top layer of my hair is way shorter than the bottom layer. How do I even it out without making my hair look really short? Also the top layer is cut like straight across, and it looks really bad.

I agree with imlonely. If it’s that bad already, it’s best to just go to a hairdresser so it doesn’t end up worse. They specialize in damage control ;) And maybe next time, don’t let your cousin do your hair.

Cutting layers isn’t just like chop chop. There are specific angels that cannot be achieved by cutting your own hair, or a novice (your cousin) hacking away at it for you. Go to a professional and get it sorted out. They will be able to blend the hair in with your longer hair and make it look natural.
