What were the benefits of mercantilism and imperialism to the natives of the New World?

What were some advantages of mercantilism and imperialism to the natives of the New World during the age of exploration? It’d really help if you gave a few links with the answer, thanks! :)

Answer #1

I think mercantilism would be more important than imperialism. I say this because Imperialism destroys Culture and National Ingenuity. Both of these are the product of boredom and free thought within a population… If an economic system is developed (like wampum) that means that a culture has developed far enough to create money, so they can set aside time for developmental thought and cultural progression. Imperialism is only focused on physical and/or economic slavery. There are a good many examples of this throughout history.

Answer #2

You forgot to mention firewater.

Answer #3

Answer #4
