What does "beauty is in the eye of the beholder" mean?

Basically means that if you think you’re beautiful then don’t let others tell you otherwise.

What one person finds ugly or unappealing, someone else may find beautiful. What this quote is basically saying is that what is defined as beauty, is done so in the eye of the person who is seeing it. It may not be the same idea of beauty that someone else has, but it is beauty to the one person anyways.

it means that something that might look good to someone doesnt necesseraly have to look good through your eyes too. it means beauty is different in each person’s eyes. well i guess i think thats what it means lol

It means that nothing is beautiful per definition. You are allowed to say that you think something is ugly, even though other people think it is beautiful.

Take the example of a model with cavernous cheeks and a weight of 45 kg (90 lbs) at 1,80m (6’10’’). Some people will send her to the catwalk and say she is the prime example of beauty. Others will say she looks horrible, almost dead and should be taken to a hospital for the anorexic as soon as possible.

Or look at fashion. Some people think that leopard print stockings are beautiful. Others will think it is trashy. Some people live dressing entirely pink with golden bling-blings all over is beautiful, others will turn away, loathing.

atimes you dont see enough reason why some people are to be liked right? maybe the have terrible manners or gestures and all that. beauty is in the eyes of the beholder, yeah it means that thing you dislike about someone is what someone may cherish about them.
