What is the best way to clean my iPod touch screen?

My screen is really dirty but I don’t know how to clean it or what to use to clean it.

Answer #1

Just dampen a dish cloth and wipe the screen down. Although, it would be easier if you would just invest in a cloth to clean it with (like the ones to clean glasses). You can get them with Protective Cases at Future Shop (at least here). They clean it really well, and you just have to rub the screen with the cloth.

Answer #2

dont use nything like windex, that will mess up the screen. do you still have the cloth that it came with? thats the best way to clean it. You can also try damping a soft material like a piece of cotton fabric with alchahol and wip it across the scree, but wring out the fabric before cleaning so it’s not really wet on the screen

Answer #3

I’ve always used baby wipes to clean mine. They are cheap, moist and tough enough to clean the screen and not mess it up, and they are soft enough to not scratch the screen.

Answer #4

Do they not make it smell odd, though? Not that I smell my iPod, but I’ve always found that baby wipes have this REALLY strong, noticeable smell. Just wondering, haha.

Answer #5

You could use the enclosed cloth to clean it. You can use a cotton ball and dip it in alcohol and wipe the screen then wipe it again with the cloth. There’s been debates that Windex can damage your screen but I’ve seen people do it before and it dormant do any damage. Best to stick too things without chemicals in it though. There’s also a anti-glare film set that protects it from finger prints, smudges and scratches that you can buy. You can use any towel or clothing made up of 100% cotton. You can use glass cleaners but make sure they are free of AMMONIA. Just spray it and wipe off smudges and let it dry.

Answer #6

You can either make your own cleaning solution, or buy a cleaner for LCD screens.

-Mix one part Isopropyl alcohol and one part distilled water, meaning in equal 50/50 parts. Or, use a store bought solution. -Lightly dip a microfiber cloth into the solution, you don’t want to get the cloth soaking wet. -Make sure your Ipod is turned off, and gently wipe the screen from top to bottom with the solution. -Let the screen dry, and then you may turn the Ipod back on.

Do NOT use tap water, tissue paper, pure alcohol, etc… Do NOT spray any solution directly onto the screen, and do NOT apply pressure to the screen while cleaning.

Answer #7

What’s wrong with tap water, if you don’t mind me asking? I used to use it on mine =/

Answer #8

It can leave white smears on your screen after cleaning it because of the dissolved minerals inside the water.

Answer #9

one of those furniture cleaning wipes work excellent on my itouch.

Answer #10

Answer #11
