bathing dog after death

is there a certain way to bathe dogs after they die?

You all ask why, what does it matter. Different people and cultures do things that may seem irrational or abnormal when they lose a loved one. Everyone is questioning and scoffing the poor girl. Not a single condolence, just attacks.

Now if any of you would of taken a moment to open your heart the answer would seem quite simple. She wants to do something, anything for her baby one last time. Maybe it’s how she grieves. Perhaps it’ll bring closure. However miniscule; if washing her dog before saying goodbye helps ease the pain, lather up. It’s seems odd to me but I heard of this strange religious practice where people put their deceased relatives in an open casket, WASH the corpse, next the cadaver is not only clothed in Sundays Best, make up and jewelery is also added. I know it sounds totally crazy but I’ve attained this information from a pretty reliable sourse but it’s more than likely an urban legend. I mean who in their right mind would do such a thing?…I’ll give you a little hint. Muslems, Christians, Mormans, Hindus, Budists, Atheists, and Jews just to name a few.

Sasha, my heart goes out to you and I’m sorrry to have heard about your trajic loss.

And to the Nazi so concerned about taking it to the vet for “proper disposel” cause it’s illegal to bury it where you see fit. Call the cops, send em over to my casa. there you’ll find three generations of dogs I loved and buried. Over each friend I planted something. Although I have an irrigation system I did not connect drip lines to the plants. Every other day I personally water them and say hello. This is how I grieve. Under the Ficus lies Daisey, my first dog I buried when I was 10. She was a golden Lab with a golden heart whom loved the water more than bacon. My only regret is not bathing Her one last time.

A vet does not need to help you with the Disposal of your pet, Many of our clients choose home burial. We will provide Cremation for our clients. I would say there is no special way to wash your dog after death. I would be gentle and treat it as if it were still alive. Then maybe blow dry the dog right away and if you are having a doggie funeral do it as soon as possiable. They will bloat and start to smell. This is why at the vet among other reasons we will place the animals in the freezer before cremation. I am so sorry for your loss and I hope all worked out dear. and it is not unlike humans to ask “Why” you are asking this question. This is a good time maybe to teach others.

Seems like we offended Mauiboy73. Sorry you feel so offended. We ask why because it’s not the usual way one says goodbye. So yes. I’m sorry you too didn’t get to bathe your dog for the las time . I’m sorry for both your losses. I don’t think any of us meant to sound mean. Just curious. Chill out dear.

Answer #4

No. If your animal has died you need to take it to the closest vet so that they may properly dispose of the body. In most states it’s illegal to bury a pet in your own yard.

Answer #7

Why would you want to bath it?

Are you maybe referring to what taxidermists do?

Answer #8

Why would you? You may just take it to the vet so they can properly dispose of it.
