Where to learn the basics of photography?

I really want to learn all about photography. I need a lot of help learning about lighting,capturing beatiful aspects of people. any links to help with these things, or advice form personal knowledge would really be appreciated.

Hi,

There are websites that have basics, such as http://www.andylim.com/photo/.

If you want hands-on help, you can look at the local art schools/universities in your area and see if there are beginner’s classes that you could take for audit (ie. not credit, not enrolled in the school, just paying for the class).
