What does "Barter" mean?

There is a category on Craigslist that says “Barter”…what exactly is that category for?

Barter is the exchange of goods…so, you can trade an item of yours for the item someone else has.

I’m not sure what it is for on craigslist but the term for “barter” im most accustumed to is like trading something for somethign in return.

On Craigslist its a section where you can offer your services or an item in exchange for other services or items. Such as people offering tattooing for a flat screen tv, Someone looking to trade a car for a truck…etc. In other words, no money is exchanged, just items or services.

Its when someone gives you a price, say theyre selling shoes for £40 and you say you wanna pay £20 then they will say £35 and you say £30 and then you will both either agree or disagree on the price. Basically tryna make a bargain out of something.
