Do you have to be baptized to be a Christian?
I am a strong believer but not baptized. I go to church, pray and do everything that Christians do but just not baptized so can i say that i am a Christian?
Yes. You are a Christian but are just not baptised. To become a proper Christian then become baptised. :D
I mean you do not have to be baptised but you can call yourself a proper Christian when your baptised.
No, you dont. There are many different branches of Christianity and not all of them require a baptism. Its best that you decide what is right for you and which path you wish to follow, and then you can find out what is required by that certain branch of your religion.
Not all Christian sects practice Baptism. The Religious Society of Friends (Quakers) and The Salvation Army do not Baptize. They obviously don’t think it is necessary. Some other churches see Baptism as a ritual that is largely symbolic rather than being necessary to be saved. In the past when a baby was born in distress it was Baptized immediately so should it die it could go to Heaven. The Church of Later Day Saints (Mormons) believes that people can be Baptized even after they are dead; this is the reason why the CoLDS is so concerned with genealogy; they think it necessary to Baptize their ancestors so they can get into Heaven.
-it.really.depends.on.what.church you go to!!
It depends on the “branch” of Christianity that you are. Not all Christian religions say that you must be baptized. However. The Bible clearly says that in order to be saved you must be baptized. It is a commandment that comes directly from God, and it shown by example throught Jesus Himself. He was baptized, Peter told the people “to be baptized and be saved, every one of you for the name of Jesus Christ.” (-Acts 2:38) A lot of Christians say that baptism is obedience, and you need obedience to be saved, and therefore need baptism. This is a touchy subject, and Ive had a ton of arguments about it. I believe that in order to be truly saved, you need to do all that God has commanded, and this includes baptism
only when your ready.
To be a Christian goes beyong beleiving that Christ exist, you also must be christlike in your character Luke 13: says 26 “Then you will say, ‘We ate and drank with you….27 “But He will reply, ‘I don’t know you. And I don’t know where you come from. Get away from me, all you who do evil!’
Christ himself was baptised(not as a baby, but conciously where He made His own decision). What greater example do we have as Christians? Baptism is a wonderful thing. It not only publicly states that we belong to Christ. It is also a righteous thing to do. Jesus says of baptism.. Matt 3:15 ….. It is right for us to do this. It carries out God’s holy plan.” Then John agreed.
No, you don’t have to be baptized to become a Christian but it is important to become baptized because it’s a public testament that you accepted Christ as your saviour. John baptized Christ, we in turn should also be baptized.
1Pe 3:21 And this is a picture of baptism, which now saves you by the power of Jesus Christ’s resurrection. Baptism is not a removal of dirt from your body; it is an appeal to God from a clean conscience.

Whats Does the Bible Realy Teach: Mat 5:5 God blesses those who are gentle and lowly, for the whole earth will belong to them.
