All babies develop at different paces. Just ask your babies doctor at your next visit…if you don’t want to wait a month, call and talk to one of the nurses and tell her your concerns. She’ll most likely say the same thing, but she can make you an appointment to ease your mind.

Make sure you are doing all you can to help him sit up on his own. Sit him on the floor and put lots of pillows all around him to make sure if he does fall over he will land on the pillows. You could also try and sit him right in the corner of the couch to also help him learn to sit up by himself.

umm, Wow I’ve nevr heard of anything like that be4. Uhh, Try to give him support or something. HAve him try to sit up propperly. He might not have good balance so maybe when he’s a little bit older his balance will get stronger and better.

having just done 7 months with health visitors, I would say don’t worry. they say the average is 6 months…

it’s natural to worry about your baby, but you should have your 8 month check booked for next month, raise any concerns. in the meantime, do as suggested above. prop him up with cushion so he’s laying at a semi upright position, and put toys in a position where he has to ‘lean in’ to get them.

or you could try a ‘bumbo chair’, look on eBay, you can get them cheap there, babies can’t normally get out of them, but it compells him to sit up, once he’s tried it and see’s the world from a different perspective, he’ll probably get a taste for it!

don’t worry, what am I saying? course your worry - I think ‘don’t panic’ would be better. make sure you try the hints mentioned and raise it with your health visitor on your next visit in one month :)
