Baby Powder.

Me and my fiance have been together for almost 2 years now - yet he is just finding this out.

I was going to the bathroom today and he walked in and saw me putting baby powder on my panties and on my vagina. I’ve done it since I was a teenager - it keeps you fresh and dry down there.

He thought it was so weird. So my question is, does anyone else do this?

Answer #1

EVERYTHING is linked to cancer. I’ve never done it but I’m going to now!

Answer #2

No, I don’t do that, and it’s been linked to cervical cancer.

Answer #3

Answer #13

I’m a guy, and I think you’re all ridiculous. As long as you shower, you’re going to smell fine. Guys like the smell of vagina. The fact that you’re masking that because you say it will smell ‘fresh’ is absolutely ridiculous.

From the dictionary… Fresh (adjective) - Retaining the original properties unimpaired

So really you’re doing the opposite of making it fresh. Seriously, if I went anywhere near a vagina and it smelled like baby powder, I would request that they wash it off before I went any further.

On top of that, you’re drying yourself out, which is a potential health hazard. I got this from the encyclopedia…

The vagina is a self-cleaning organ, sustaining healthy microbial flora that flow from the inside out; the vulva needs only simple washing to assure good vulvovaginal health, without recourse to any internal cleansing or douching.

That ‘healthy microbial bacteria’ is what keeps you from getting things like yeast infections.

Do what you want, it’s your vaginas after all…

Answer #14

I have done it before…

Answer #15

Don’t hate. I shower every day, but I tend to get very warm, and it’s uncomfortable for me to feel damp down there, so I use a puff and pat a little cornstarch baby powder around my thighs and the outer part of my privates, also the inner crease of the thigh, and then sprinkle a little in my panties. It’s not like we’re packing it into the actual pink parts. I think of it the same way I put antiperspirant under my arms after a shower, and I’ve never had a guy complain yet.

Answer #16

Well, I’m a guy and see nothing wrong with a girl doing it, I do it myself, I sweat a lot and it does help with it, like most of you I do during the hot days of summer or when I do exercise. I think that guys have to be a bit more open to what girl do and why, I think that most guys are not open minded to new things.

Answer #17

I don’t do that but I know someone that does and she has to smell good down there. I don’t really have much of a problem down there as far as sweating so, I just don’t use baby powder there. I love the smell of it and I don’t think its weird for you to do that. You just have to explain to your significant other why you should put baby powder there. I also hear that baby powder keeps you dry and smelling good down there. I think that’s a great idea! Maybe I should try that. Since I don’t sweat much there, I should try that for freshness.

There is a great deal of speculation that Talcum powder may cause cancer. Talc is closely related to asbestos. I wouldn’t recommend putting it anywhere near your ovaries.

Look for an alternative product that doesn’t contain talc like “calming non-talc powder” http://www.californiababy.com/calming-non-talc-powder-2-5-oz.html
