Are Australian people racist?

Thats like saying Do all English people have scones and tea O.O everyones different some people are racist some people aren’t.

I think that there are racist people in every country, state, or province. I don’t think that it’s safe to say that EVERYONE from one certain place is racist, though.

So I’d say no. While some may be, I definitely don’t think that every Australian is.

I agree with you. It even happens here in Trinidad our country is mostly made up Of Indians and Africans we have a fair amount of mixed races too, and whites, Chinese etc, but I have people in my Family who don’t like Africans, that does not mean that I am like that. It all depends on individuals although society may have embedded certain things in our mind.

All the Australian people I have ever meant were wonderfully nice and not racist at all. I’m sure like anywhere there are a few racists in Australia, but I do not think the majority is at all.

Nope, I think that some of the Australians are racist, but the majority is not.

The official politics towards the native Australians (aka the aboriginal people) may be consideres racist. But there are many persistent social problems (alcoholism, poverty, bad educaion, crimes) that make it very difficult for the average non-native Australian to not have any negative stereotypes about the natives.

Immigration politics is also very strict, so a foreigner might get the impression that the Australian state is xenophobe. As they allow only people with good education and good knowledge of English to move there. But they are equally strict with all immigrants, wherever they come from. Also with white Europeans or white Northern-Americans. So they aren’t discriminationg against any race there.

Everyone is racist, in some form or another. It’s in our nature as humans. We naturally have a fear of the unknown, or something that is different than us. Look at our history. There isn’t a person on this planet that isn’t racist.
