Why do titles change?

I noticed something. When I put a Headline “Title” Someone Changes it and It Bothers me. Why???

Like for one, I put ‘septum’ and someone changed it to “what does a septum piercing feel like?” -k, I didn’t PUT that! Stop IT!

Argh! Quit it or at least tell me a good Reason!

We want everyone on this site to have easy access to all questions and related questions. We cannot do that if some questions give no specific information in the title about what they are referring to. You should read funadvices’s terms of service!

Easy: our site search technology, for one, relies on the title to produce related images, related questions, and so on. So, the title HAS to be descriptive. One word is NOT descriptive ;)

Note, I changed the title of this question, because you’re not asking “ARGH” your asking why title tags change. I also recategorized the question into FunAdvice Community, where all questions about the site belong…General Knowledge is for questions that don’t fit elsewhere ;)

Last, on our terms of service, which you agree to when you sign up, say that we might edit questions for content OR clarity.

If you don’t want us to rewrite them, it’d be a HUGE help if you’d make them more descriptive for us, so we don’t need to edit. Our “ask a question” page also suggests how to make sure your question is quality, which includes writing a title that makes sense.

I hope that helps.
