Does anyone feel like they forget themselves?

God sometimes i feel everyone trying to do their own thing and then someother times i feel like everyone the same. i have never come across such a variety of behaviours in my entire life..(sounds weird but thats exactly what i mean)..see ,i have joined a new college (a yr ago to be precise)..even better ,lets say i was brought up in a different country itself ….why are people so different in the west(im Indian)…what do people want to prove..i dont get it…why does everyone have to be different…cant nyone have a chat with someone(me) who speaks the same things as you(me)..lol…WHy Are people different….again i know what ure gonna say….u know the world will not be a interesting place..but seriously..how do people listen to so many opinions and not get carried away….i feel like sometimes, if do listen to people, ill drift away into their world and completely forget who i am? God! is this form of thinking natural or is it just me….

You aren’t alone. I go to a college that has a very large Indian student body. They support one another- it is almost like another community within the school. There is an unspoken rule at my college to not co-exist or to mingle too long with foreigners. True, it may be a southern university and tradition still hold firm but still, WHY?? why should we exist as two entities, separate but unequal. I cannot imagine what they must go through, being away from home, in a strange city and culture, unable to express their fears and reservations.

I am of Caucasian descent so it may be irresponsible of me to make observations on a public forum such as this. But, be strong to your own culture and your own values. Ignore the drug usage and everything that goes along with it. Make friends but be cautious. No matter how far we have come, this world still holds the prejudices of our fathers.

Well u havent read what ihad written earlier? but neways…lets see For starters in college u cannot conform to what evry sick kid tells you…and if u dont…then ure left out there on your own…as far as the NHS is concerned ,i doubt i have ever used the service and as a matter of fact my mum works for the NHS..and doesnt get paid for it that well…but newyas no ones complaining…and i dont think its my job to fit in with students in my college…uhve got to speak to some of the idiots there and you would realise how idiotic they are…im not being judgemental, but im being cautious thats all…i feel with adults(here for me they would include teachers)atleast there exists some form of understanding, however with kids ,i doubt it would be that easy..but i try nevertheless…the kids in my college are just plain insane..they do drugs, and god knows what else…i never had to deal with these issues in India as a child…but i feel a part of ure reply concerning me fitting in with the people here in the uk is absoulutely right…however i doubt that would be the case in college…and thats what i was really getting at..i never made it clear i guess! lol
