hi , well done to you for putting some thought into the long term of having a pup and not just seeing the fur ball. as someone who is MAD about dogs I can tell you yes they are worth every min . however I will also tell you that in order to have a well behaved dog you need to be prepared to put some work in . many badly behaved dogs only are a reflection of owners who dont put the work in. pups are pretty much like small children they need to be shown what is expected of them and consistantly. they will misbehave and test you . they will be naughty and stubborn sometimes too. maybe go along to a puppy socialistation class in your local dog training centre to find out more . They require a lot of your time and are not ornements. if you are not prepared for the dog to be a part of your family and realise that he needs to be walked every day even when its raining or you are tired or dont feel like it think again. but what I can say is what you give to your dog you get back tenfold. hope I’ve helped

They are for those who love them (I’ve never been without one)…It’d be hell for both the dog AND the human, if the first year of a pup’s life was too big of a hassle for the new owner.

Good for you for deciding to give it a LOT of thought before diving in. A dog is a commitment for an average of 13 to 15 years…

Yes the are worth owning, but no this kind of behaviour is unexceptable and is due to lack of leadership from the owner, this makes the owner unhappy and the dog is unhappy and confussed, NONE of the things you listed should take place in owning a dog as long as the owner teaches the dog what he expects from him, so this takes time a patience.

Thank you very very very much for all the advice! Now I just have to covince my daddy’o to get one for me…hee hee

Answer #5

just depends how much work your willing to put into one.

its like having to take care of a baby for 7-10 years. depending on the dog maybe even 20 years.

and I mean literally a baby.

a living, pooping, food processor.
