Are all Americans this crazy?

I’m an Australian, and I was just watching the talk show Ellen…I couldn’t help but notice the audience members seem to be really HYPED up screaming and jumping up and down and getting so excited about the smallest things. I also noticed this on Oprah and a few other American talk shows. An Australian audience would never act so stupid and crazy…is this an acurate portrayal of how people are in America?? If not, WHY are they so NUTTY on the T.V?

Answer #1

Well A- they probably tell you to act crazy when on the Air so it seems like they are having sooo much fun. B- they are on tv so they might be trying to get noticed.. I duno. C- Everyone gets a little crazy sometimes, it’s better than being boring. D- who cares what they are doing??

Answer #2

No, most Americans are not like that - realize those two mentioned very much attract the ‘feel good - anything goes - politically correct cutesy crowd ‘ - very lacking in values, maturity, and reality.

Answer #3

No, it is not what all americans are like. The people that are part of the in studio auidence generally went to great lenght to get there The only people that will do that are the fanatics. You can not judge a country by the vocal minority, and the american on here that are misleading you should reconsider how they are representing their country.

Hahahaha, I had to stop watching, I felt like I was losing brain cells watching those try-hard rappers bounce around wearing pants 17 sizes too big for their dads.

Answer #5

sadly, yes we are. were all big drama king and queens. its part of the culture. Jerry springer is another story,,, were not stupid. but we are crazy and were all afraid of the government! lol

Answer #6

Hmmm what do all the people you’re talking about have in common…there on a tv show :] so how can that be a accurate portrayal of how Americans are lol…maybe a accurate portrayal of how people are on tv in America haha…and if you think were crazy then check out the Spanish t.v shows ^_^ on second thought crazy and nutty is just more fun, so sure we are :]

Answer #7

You think thats amazing, look at what they did to Obama. Yeah its pretty scarey when a nuclear superpower is also home to the worlds biggest fanatics.

Answer #8

Yes but they are all audience members, who I would assume are a normal bunch of people that wanted to sit in and watch a show. Like our few Australian talk shows are full of normal audience members who don’t act like tools. When I was watching Ellen, she called out random names of people to come and play blindfolded musical chairs. They all RAN down to her, jumped up and down, hugged her, danced around, squealed and then hugged the other people playing, then screamed some more. I swear they must feed them drugs or something before the show? It’s freakin musical chairs people, you haven’t won the lotto! Why are you screaming??lol.

Answer #9

We’re not all like that, they just drank too much coffee before the show. =)

Answer #10

we just know how to have FUN!! LOL

Answer #11

Yes unfortunately we are but I wouldnt say it is a bad thing ;-)

Answer #12

and we’re not uptight :] why dose it matter if they’re having fun lol

Answer #14

Cause we’re CRUNK lol!!!

Answer #15

Yes, it’s lots of fun, I do love watching the shows, was just trying to figure out if the audience are on drugs or something with their OVER-THE-TOP reactions to things. I never said they should not get excited, it just makes me cringe sometimes at how overboard it is. But if you guys are not all that crazy then I’m happy, relieved, and still wanting to visit :)

Answer #16

the audience is told to be hyped and crazy for a show that is necessary. Oprah and Ellen give out free prizes all the time too, id be siked if she told me I just won a brand new flat screen. Anyway, the show would be soo awkward if they gave you sh*t and you just sat there…Maybe you shouldnt judge other countries by what you see on TV, ya know if I did that id think that you australians were all rude, weird talking and CRAZY enough to try and wrestle crocodiles…profiling isnt fun, huh?
