Anyone creative enought to help me with an application?

Heyy, I am wondering if anyone could give me some super creative ideas for an application I have to do? It is for a scholarship for a cooking school to help me become a chef! The information says you can do your application anyway you like eg. Tape it on a camera, powerpoint or just a written application, I really want to make a creative video showing my passion and love for cooking but I am struggeling with how to make it. Im mot really sure what to say or do or how to set it out! I want something that is going to make me stand out, something really creative! I am open to any suggestions! Thanks

I would do the tape, and find a dish you want to cook and tape yourself cooking it and talking about who you are, why you have this passion and why you want to be a cook and be somewhat funny with the dish.

Check this guy’s video out. I found it the other day while planning a menu for my girlfriend’s birthday. He’s so casual, yet confident, it makes for a very engaging video even though the presentation and the recipe are very simple, straightforward, and not at all flashy. Maybe it will provide you with some inspiration.

Unless you have a basic understanding of the fundamentals of cooking, I’d forgo the video.

Simply acting a part on tape doesn’t show what your true passion is - anybody can pretend to be a chef. However, if you really want to show them your sincerity, you could always do a documentary of the rising of the great classic chef, Escoffier, and do a little research on the kitchen brigade as well as classic cooking methods. Those are all things that are important in the kitchen.

When I went to culinary school to become a chef, I did an entire project application in the form of a menu. My education up till that point were the appetizers, my job history was the main course, and so on…
