Antivirus System PRO

So my dad downloaded like this demo for an antivirus or whatever but all it’s doing is annoying me to death with stupid popups and it says that things are infected when I know that they aren’t. Like Yahoo messenger. I’ve had it on here for god knows how long and its never done anythign bad for this computer and now it wont even let me open it up. My question is How do I get this stupid demo off my computer? I need it off right now these pop ups are killing me and they aren’t helping at all. Please help!

Get the demo program’s name See if it has an uninstall routine (Start Button / All Programs / ‘demo name’) If there is no uninstall routine then try Start Botton / Control Panel / Add and Delete programs / ‘demo name’ If that doesn’t work you can try rolling back to an earlier restore point - with XP - To access the System Restore Wizard, click Start, and then click Help and Support. Click Performance and Maintenance, click Using System Restore to undo changes, and then click Run the System Restore Wizard.

If THAT doesn’t work your demo is a virus or adware. It might respond to one of the spyware removers. The three best (IMHO) and also safe are … Ad-aware, SpywareBlaster, and Spybot : Search and Destroy. You can get all three for free at http://download.cnet.com/windows/ This site is VERY trust worthy. (It also has some free TRUSTWORTHY anti-virus programs).

Finally, if that doesn’t work, you will have to research on google for others that have had this problem and how they got rid of it. (In fact you might try this first!).

Your very very very last resort is a complete wipe and reinstall of your operating system. This gets rid of ANYTHING (except a corrupted bios) including all programs and data on your drive.

You are on the way to becoming a computer wizz. Good Luck!!
