How do I get an antivirus protection for free, on my laptop?

I need to protect my new laptop from viruses and stuff, but I don’t know what to get…or how to get it free. I don’t want free trials…

AVG antivirus has a free version. It is required by my job so it must work well.

Try AVG.. you can also get a free trial from Vipre.. it lasts 30 days and works really well. After the 30 days, you can just uninstall and reinstall..

Download(dot)cnet is a great place for downloading things. I’ve downloaded a few things from it. It’s free.

You might also want to download a better firewall than the standard windows one to help portect your system better. Zonealarm is very good. Agree that AVG and Avast are good free anti-virus software.

AVG has got my vote. Get AVG Free and AVG anti-spyware and you should be just as safe as somebody who has payed for Norton.

Microsoft now offers a free antivirus software, called “Microsoft Security Essentials.” I don’t think it has all the features of AVG, but it certainly doesn’t bog down your computer, either.

AVG as i always say. its what i use and ill never stop using it.

i pay for my licence cus AVG deserve it.
