Another bleaching nightmare

Ok…so I’ve read many of these q an a’s on here and I understand that I shouldn’t but im going to so any help would be great! I have dishwater blonde hair…I dyed it dark brown a few months back…looked awesome…started to lighten, and lighten, and started to look coppery gold which I didnt like. Sooo…last night I tried to go back to blonde, light blonde, and as we all know I know have a little bozo the clown thing going on. I have a birthday party to go to tomorrow and there is no way im going like this, hat or not! So im going to do more tonight against all these responses I’ve seen telling me not too. So any advice if im going to do it on what exactly to do? Strip it? Bleach it? Dye it light blonde? Help!!! Thank you :)

hey sunworshiper I’m so glad you are being lighthearted about your situation. I’ve been there, and I know how devistating it can be. there are 476 million salons in your area(ok, slight exaggeration), so if you can’t get in one, you aren’t trying hard enough. At the schools, you have just as much chance of getting a botched chop as any other salon, because the students are following the guidance of a trained professional teacher. If you are trying to get permission from other people to do it at home, you won’t get it. and bleaching it again won’t take the orange out. like I said before, you have to have a tone remover. I did this last summer… tried to do it at home… went to sally’s beauty supply.. tone remover didn’t work… followed all the directions… ended up with a lot of frustrations, hair damage, and still had to go to a salon. we can only give advice from our past experiences. but if you do decided to continue bleaching your hair until it falls out, at least you will have more advice to give on the subject here on funadvice! :) wish you the best.

Dear sunworshiper713, I’ve been doing my own hair for over 30 years and yes, we all make mistakes. The best thing to do at this time is to go to a hair dresser for a colour correction. If you dye your hair again you may damage it beyond repair. It could get very dry and brittle or you may end up with another colour you hate. This really is now a job for a professional and so what it will cost you a bit of money and time…better then costing you a whole head of hair and lots of embarrassment. Sue…good luck

Well first I want to say thank you to both of you that responded. This is a pretty cool site. 2 things… I dont believe I could get in at hair salon on such short notice…but still may try! :) And second, Im a little scared to go to a beauty school…sometimes they do great work, sometimes they dont lol… But I did want to say thank you and to Sue90 you may not believe this but unlike the other question like mine that I’ve seen on here my hair feels like spun gold today! soft, shiny…it really doesnt “appear” that I have done that much damage…yet! :) So on that note could I possibly try again tonight? I know what you are going to say so Im not sure why I am asking…Geez a girl gets desperate when she does something stupid like this…maybe I should just try to convince everyone that bozo orange is the new cool thing to do! Thank again to you both for your assistance…

there is a second step in the bleaching process. you have to put this stuff on that takes the copper/orange tones out before you get that white paris hilton hair. have a hairdresser do it. if you are worried about money, go to a cosmetology school. same results, but expect it to take twice as long as a normal salon.
